Electrical Engineering Intern - Power Delivery — San Francisco

Overview Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering students to join our Long Beach, California (CA) office's Power Delivery team! This is not a remote position. Responsibilities Pre-Design Engineering • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings • Perform field investigations. • Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines. • Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables. • Perform feasibility studies. • Prepare schematic designs. Design Engineering • Design of electrical systems including Ports & Harbors electrification, electric vehicle charging, and building electrical • Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses. • Participate on project teams in an active production role • Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines • Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE. • Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules. • Design lighting selection and controls. • Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems. • Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies using ETAP and/or SKM Qualifications • In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters) Hourly Range : $33 - $34 Why Kimley-Horn?
