We're growing, and we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help push flash-spinning technology forward and bring new Tyvek® products from concept to commercial scale. This is hands-on engineering with visible impact. You'll design experiments, solve problems no one has solved before, and see your work move from the lab bench into full-scale manufacturing and out into the market. You'll do it alongside a multidisciplinary R&D team spanning materials science, polymer science, chemistry, and chemical, mechanical, and electrical engineering — a group known for giving engineers real ownership of their programs. What You'll Do • Lead product and process R&D programs from concept through commercial implementation • Design and run laboratory, experimental, and modeling studies — then translate the results into clear technical and business direction • Own project plans, timelines, and cross-functional testing and implementation activities • Communicate technical strategy, progress, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels • Partner with scientists and engineers to scale new technology from development into manufacturing • Work with external consultants, suppliers, and partners to accelerate project objectives • Build the intellectual property portfolio through competitive landscape assessment, invention identification, and patent generation What You'll Bring • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with relevant industrial or R&D experience • Working knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals applied to equipment design, process development, or process optimization • Solid grounding in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to know which problems matter most • Clear communicator who collaborates and influences well across technical and non-technical partners • Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment • Fluency in English • Willingness to travel up to 25% Nice to Have • 5+ years of professional experience • Experience with 3D CAD tools • Experience with data analysis, visualization, and large data sets • Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and/or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) • Experience with polymer processing or web-handling equipment Join our Talent Community to stay connected with us!
