The NAND Design team develops innovative digital circuit and semiconductor solutions that power Micron's next-generation memory products. Team members collaborate across design, verification, firmware, product engineering, and validation organizations to deliver high-performance, high-quality NAND technologies that enable advanced computing and data storage solutions.
As a Design Engineer, you will contribute to semiconductor design engineering activities involving digital circuit development, chip design, verification, and silicon evaluation. You will work with experienced engineers to develop, fabricate, modify, and evaluate microelectronic devices and parts. This role offers exposure to the full product development lifecycle from concept through silicon validation. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build technical expertise in digital design, memory architecture, verification methodologies, and advanced semiconductor technologies.
Responsibilities
• Perform semiconductor design engineering assignments including circuit design, chip layout support, circuit checking, documentation of specifications, and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components.
• Review product requirements, logic diagrams, and technical specifications to assist in defining and implementing digital circuit functionality.
• Develop, simulate, debug, and verify RTL designs and test environments while supporting netlist bring-up, design validation, and silicon characterization activities.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams including firmware, product engineering, and validation organizations to identify issues, analyze results, and implement design improvements.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools, AI Assistants, and AI-supported engineering workflows to improve productivity, design analysis, automation, and technical learning. Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, completed prior to the start date.
• Graduation within the previous 12 months or expected completion of degree requirements before employment begins.
• Coursework, academic projects, internship experience, or research involving digital logic design, computer architecture, VLSI, ASIC/FPGA development, or semiconductor devices.
• Familiarity with Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, or other hardware description languages.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills through academic, internship, research, or extracurricular experiences. Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience through internships, co-ops, research, or projects involving semiconductor design, digital circuit verification, ASIC/FPGA development, or memory systems.
• Knowledge of digital design methodologies, verification concepts, and non-volatile memory technologies such as NAND.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, or similar tools used to automate engineering workflows.
• Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, AI-Assisted development tools, or Applying AI to improve engineering productivity, data analysis, or design processes.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$100,000.00 - $170,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
