Micron's Customer Systems Engineering (CSE) team serves as a critical bridge between our customers and engineering organizations, helping ensure successful deployment of Micron's SSD and storage solutions. The team works closely with customers, product engineering, firmware development, and quality teams to solve complex technical challenges, improve product quality, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. As a Customer Systems Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage products throughout their lifecycle. You will work with cross-functional teams to investigate technical issues, assist with customer qualifications, analyze product failures, and develop innovative AI-enabled solutions that improve engineering workflows. This is an excellent opportunity to build technical expertise in storage technologies while developing strong customer-facing and problem-solving skills. What You Will Do • Develop AI-enhanced tools and solutions that improve engineering efficiency and streamline Customer Systems Engineering workflows. • Partner with customers, customer-facing teams, and internal engineering organizations to support product qualification and deployment activities. • Assist with firmware release processes, firmware management, and customer qualification efforts. • Support failure analysis activities for returned products during high-volume manufacturing and customer deployments. • Investigate customer-reported issues and collaborate with engineering teams to drive technical problems to resolution. • Analyze system-level behavior and identify opportunities for process improvements. • Create and present technical findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders. • Leverage modern AI tools and large language models to improve productivity and innovation within engineering processes. Minimum Qualifications • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. • Strong understanding of computer systems and storage technology, including processors, memory, operating systems, drivers, firmware, and hardware/software interactions. • Experience programming in C and Python. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Self-motivated with a passion for learning and continuous improvement. • Experience using AI tools and large language models such as Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar technologies. Preferred Qualifications • Knowledge of storage interfaces and protocols, including SATA, SAS, PCIe, and NVMe. • Experience with debugging, system validation, or failure analysis through coursework, projects, research, or internships. • Familiarity with SSD architecture, firmware, or enterprise storage solutions. • Demonstrated project leadership experience through academic, extracurricular, or professional activities. • Curiosity to explore emerging technologies and apply innovative approaches to technical challenges. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $25.23 - $25.23 an hour Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
