The registration lottery

Employers submit electronic registrations during a March window. Selected registrations may then file a full petition, with employment usually starting on 1 October. Selection is beneficiary-centric, so multiple employers registering you does not multiply your odds.

A US master's degree or higher gives you a second draw through the advanced-degree exemption, which materially improves selection probability.

What sponsorship costs the employer
