Become a part of our caring community   Humana is seeking a Manager, Full Stack Engineering for our Wisconsin Medicaid Market who is equally passionate about leading people and building technology. This is a hands-on working manager role where you'll spend most of your time designing, coding, reviewing, and delivering solutions alongside a small team of engineers, while also coaching and developing team members. We're looking for a technical leader who leads by example and remains deeply involved in engineering execution. In this role, you'll oversee full-stack development across two health plan technology environments, including Microsoft-based applications, Azure cloud services, Dynamics 365, and modern DevOps platforms. You'll drive modernization efforts, improve reliability and security, reduce technical debt, and help prepare systems for future enterprise migration. Success in this role requires a builder's mindset, strong ownership, and a commitment to leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and elevate team performance. Key Responsibilities • Lead and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development. • Design, build, enhance, and modernize applications, APIs, integrations, and services across multiple technology platforms. • Remain highly engaged in hands-on software engineering activities, including coding, architecture, debugging, testing, and code reviews. • Establish engineering best practices and maintain high standards for software quality, security, and performance. • Drive modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, technical debt reduction, and platform optimization efforts. • Partner with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and peer engineering leaders to define technical solutions and delivery priorities. • Implement and promote DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and operational excellence practices. • Champion responsible and effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality. • Support technology strategies that prepare legacy systems for future migration to enterprise platforms. • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, privacy, and healthcare regulatory requirements. Use your skills to make an impact   Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience. • 8+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications and distributed systems. • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing software engineers in a technical environment. • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft technologies, including: • .NET / C# • SQL Server • RESTful APIs and integrations • Modern software design and architecture practices • Experience developing and deploying solutions in Microsoft Azure. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and DevOps practices. • Demonstrated ability to modernize legacy applications and improve operational reliability. • Experience performing code reviews and establishing engineering best practices. • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). • Experience leading cloud transformation or modernization initiatives. • Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and code-generation technologies. • Familiarity with healthcare, payer, managed care, Medicaid, or regulated industry environments. • Experience implementing DevSecOps and security-first engineering practices. • Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI handling requirements, and healthcare compliance standards. • Experience supporting complex enterprise integrations and third-party platforms. • Azure certifications and/or Microsoft technology certifications. Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.   Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.   Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.   $117,600 - $161,700 per year   This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
