Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer supports Outboard Assembly operations with an emphasis on V6, V8, and V10 product platforms. This role partners with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to improve product quality, reduce process variation, and drive corrective actions that support production and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment, leading root cause investigations, utilizing data to drive improvements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across assembly operations.
Essential Functions
• Partner with manufacturing teams to reduce process and product variation through structured problem solving and corrective action.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action activities for quality concerns.
• Support nonconforming material processes, containment activities, and quality spill resolution.
• Conduct product and process audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Analyze quality data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and critical product characteristics to support manufacturing quality.
• Utilize inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices to verify product conformance.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation including PFMEAs, Control Plans, deviations, and work instructions.
• Create and implement quality alerts, visual controls, and error-proofing solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Support training and coaching of manufacturing personnel on quality standards and best practices.
• Promote and maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Science, or related field; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.
• Minimum three years of quality, manufacturing, or engineering experience in a production environment.
• Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and quality systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in high-volume assembly manufacturing.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or similar certification.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, process capability studies, and validation activities.
• Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection techniques.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, or similar data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems such as PINpoint or ProPlanner.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is an onsite role in Fond du Lac, WI.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $61,400 - $98,600 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
