Systems Engineering Test Lead - Clearance Required — Remote (US)

Overview LMI is seeking a Test Team Lead who will serve as the technical authority for test planning, execution, system integration, and verification supporting the F-35 Logistics Information Technology (LogIT) solution. Reporting to program leadership, the Test Team Lead will be responsible for architecting, executing, and governing all test and evaluation (T&E) activities to ensure delivery of a robust, mission-capable system. This includes driving disciplined verification processes across Systems Integration, User Acceptance, and System-of-Systems testing, with accountability for meeting Limited Deployment objectives in addition to subsequent capability releases. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep systems engineering expertise, leadership in test strategy, and a track record of Agile test execution within complex defense environments. Responsibilities • Architect and maintain an enterprise test strategy encompassing the full system lifecycle, including requirements traceability matrix (RTM), test coverage analysis, and test architecture artifacts. • Ensure alignment between system testing plans and enterprise-level program milestones. • Govern all Agile quality gates, defining clear entry/exit criteria and defect severity standards for all test phases. • Validate test artifacts—including test cases, scripts, and procedures—against DoDAF architectural views (OV-1, SV-1, OV-5b), performing test readiness reviews that demonstrate linkage between technical requirements and architecture products. • Ensure comprehensive test coverage of integration points across legacy and modernized systems, assessing impacts to interoperability and data fidelity. • Lead the formal execution of full-spectrum testing, including systems integration, user acceptance, and system-of-systems verification for F-35 LogIT. • Develop methodologies and coordinate resources for planning, scheduling, and executing integration tests across multiple platforms, environments (e.g., IL2/4/5/6), and stakeholders. • Plan and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), collaborating with end-users to validate mission requirements and operational suitability. • Establish and maintain an automated regression testing framework, supporting continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices. • Monitor and manage technical risk throughout the testing lifecycle, including proactive identification and mitigation of risks related to performance, security, and system interoperability. • Track issues and defects, providing regular reporting to leadership on status, trends, and corrective actions. • Lead recurring test readiness reviews, test execution meetings, and defect triage with internal teams, program management offices, prime contractors, and external certification agencies. • Facilitate joint reviews with external DOD/OSW agencies in preparation for formal acceptance and interoperability certification. • Maintain robust documentation of test results, findings, and verification evidence to support audits, certifications, and accreditation. • Collaborate with product owners, scrum teams, and program leadership to integrate T&E activities into sprint and Program Increment (PI) planning. • Provide architectural and technical guidance to ensure the test effort supports evolving program priorities, contract deliverables, and incremental capability releases. Qualifications Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field. • 10 or more years of relevant experience in systems engineering, software quality engineering, or test and evaluation leadership supporting defense, federal, or large-scale enterprise software systems. • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and test teams in U.S. military services (e.g., USAF, USN) or multi-agency (Joint/OSW) Enterprise environments. • Proven track record architecting, planning, and governing complex system integration and verification activities, including alignment to technical reviews and compliance milestones. • Deep understanding of systems engineering practices, including DoDAF architectural views, interface control verification, requirements traceability, and system-of-systems integration. • Proficient in software development and Agile methodologies, including practical experience with Agile delivery frameworks (SAFe, Scrum), test automation, and CI/CD pipelines. • Demonstrated proficiency with automated test management tools, defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira), and cloud-native architectures operating across multiple security enclaves. • Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one. • Preferred: DAWIA Practitioner or Advanced credentials in Test & Evaluation or Systems Engineering, INCOSE CSEP, and/or certifications in Agile methods (e.g., SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master). Preferred Qualifications • Experience with formal acceptance testing and joint interoperability certification processes involving external DOD or OSW agencies, including interfacing with the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). • Familiarity with DoD logistics data structures, Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) transactions, and Defense Automatic Addressing System (DAAS) routing. • Experience integrating test artifacts and workflows with cross-domain DoD environments (e.g., NIPR/SIPR, Cross Domain Solutions) and understanding of associated security overlays. • Working knowledge of enterprise analytics and test reporting within environments such as Advana, Jupiter, or comparable mission analytics platforms. • Experience supporting aviation sustainment, weapon system logistics, or similar defense modernization programs. The target salary range for this position is $101,144 - $174,591. The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
