Job Overview T-Mobile Home Internet is one of our fastest growing businesses, and the software this team builds runs on every gateway and mesh extender we put in a customer's home. We're a small development team on a large program, so you'll contribute to meaningful software development work from the start. You'll develop the device agents that manage, monitor, and troubleshoot our broadband customer premises equipment. They're written in C and C++ against the Broadband Forum's open USP standards and run on the RDK-B platform. The agent uses a microservice architecture, and you'll develop and maintain assigned services within the established architecture. Your agents will interface with the device's Wi-Fi and cellular subsystems through RDK and RBUS. You won't be writing Wi-Fi drivers or modem firmware, but understanding those technologies, and how RDK components talk to each other, is central to doing this job well. What you'll do • Develop and maintain one or more microservices within the device management agent, in C and C++ on RDK-B. • Implement and maintain device data model parameters and USP protocol behavior across supported hardware platforms. • Interface with the device's Wi-Fi and cellular subsystems through RDK and RBUS to configure them, query state, and report it upstream. • Build and maintain the containerized services that run on the device, delivered through a Kubernetes-based packaging and deployment pipeline. • Write unit tests for new and changed code and extend our automated test coverage. • Debug across the device software stack, from log analysis and root cause investigation through to fix verification. • Support device maintenance releases, including test support, firmware validation, and release verification. • Work with OEM partners on defect triage and reproduction. • Improve how we collect data and logs from the field so issues can be triaged and resolved faster. • Contribute ideas that improve how we build, test, and deliver device software. • Document your code, the data model and device behavior.   Job Summary This role is essential for designing, implementing, and deploying scalable software solutions that meet customer requirements and support high availability environments.
