What You'll Do In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise. KLA is looking for a hands-on engineer to support the build, integration, testing, and introduction of advanced eBeam semiconductor equipment. You will spend significant time working with the actual equipment, supporting system and subsystem builds, bringing hardware up, troubleshooting problems, qualifying changes, and helping transition new products from engineering into manufacturing. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a lab, cleanroom, or manufacturing environment and enjoys solving problems directly on the tool. In this role, you will serve as a critical interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Global Operations, ensuring new products are successfully transitioned from development into production. This position requires strong systems-level knowledge, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently drive complex cross-functional programs. Key Responsibilities • Lead NPI and manufacturing transfer programs from engineering development through production release. • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Program teams to develop and execute beta and pilot build plans for new eBeam products. • Partner with Engineering to ensure product designs, BOMs, and configurations are production-ready during early development phases. • Participate in technical design reviews to improve manufacturability, optimize cost, and drive operational readiness. • Work closely with Supply Chain and external partners to support supplier selection, outsourcing strategies, cost analysis, and RFQ activities. • Manage engineering materials, prototype hardware, tooling, and critical components supporting development, beta builds, and field upgrades. • Drive implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs) and design updates across manufacturing sites and suppliers. • Develop and execute complex project plans while coordinating activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations. • Analyze technical and operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements and drive resolution of complex manufacturing challenges. • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations and influence product designs to improve quality, reliability, and scalability. • Develop and improve system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation processes. • Support field escalations, beta site activities, and customer installations requiring deep product knowledge and technical expertise. • Present technical recommendations, program status, and issue resolution plans to engineering and operations leadership. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related technical field. • Hands-on experience working with semiconductor capital equipment, electron microscopy equipment, or other complex electromechanical equipment. • Experience with equipment build, integration, bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, qualification, manufacturing, or technical product support. • Comfortable working directly on equipment in a lab, cleanroom, or manufacturing environment. • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills. • Experience working with engineering documentation such as BOMs, ECOs/ECNs, work instructions, test procedures, or configuration documentation. • Ability to work effectively with design engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, field service, and customers. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with eBeam, electron-beam inspection, SEM, CD-SEM, FIB, electron microscopy, wafer inspection, or semiconductor metrology equipment. • Experience working with electron sources, electron guns, SEM columns, high-voltage systems, vacuum/UHV systems, detectors, wafer handling, or precision motion systems. • Experience installing, bringing up, testing, or troubleshooting equipment at a semiconductor fab. • Experience with NPI or transferring new equipment from engineering into manufacturing. • Experience supporting prototype or pilot production builds. • Experience with system or subsystem acceptance testing and qualification. • Experience working with suppliers on technical or manufacturing issues. • Experience creating manufacturing procedures and training technicians or other engineers Additional Information • Travel up to 20%, including periodic travel to Singapore and Milpitas to support manufacturing transfer and production readiness activities. Key Success Factor: Strong systems knowledge and the ability to independently lead complex NPI and manufacturing transfer programs across globally distributed teams.
