Position Overview:
The Specialist, EH&S System Administration & Data Analytics supports the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) systems, data, and reporting processes. Working with limited supervision, this role collects, analyzes, and interprets EH&S data to provide actionable insights that support operational performance, compliance, and business decision-making. The Specialist partners with EH&S teammates, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to develop dashboards, scorecards, performance metrics, and reporting solutions that help measure program effectiveness and track progress against organizational objectives.
This role supports the administration and enhancement of EH&S technology platforms, including Intelex, ensuring data integrity, user support, system continuity, and effective utilization across the organization. The Specialist develops standard and ad hoc reports, identifies trends and improvement opportunities, and works with stakeholders to enhance reporting capabilities, automate processes, and improve the user experience. Through data-driven analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous process improvement, the role contributes to the successful execution of EH&S programs, strategic initiatives, and performance reporting that support organizational goals.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead and support the collection, analysis, and visualization of EH&S data to develop meaningful metrics, scorecards, dashboards, and reports that support business and departmental objectives
• Design, generate, and interpret standard and ad hoc reports to monitor operational performance, program effectiveness, compliance indicators, and key performance trends
• Develop and deliver data-driven insights, reporting solutions, and analytical materials that support EH&S initiatives, leadership decision-making, and customer needs
• Partner with EH&S teammates, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and translate business needs into effective system and reporting solutions
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes, enhance data quality, and improve workflow efficiency through technology and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead and support strategic business initiatives and cross-functional projects by providing analytical support, performance measurement, and reporting expertise
• Support administration and continuous improvement of EH&S technology platforms, including serving as backup System Administrator for Intelex and supporting system enhancements, testing, and user adoption
• Stay current on emerging technologies, reporting tools, and AI-enabled solutions to improve data management, analytics, reporting capabilities, and user experience
Minimum Job Qualifications
• Degree or equivalent and requires 4+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline preferred
Specialized Knowledge / Skills
• Experience administering enterprise applications, databases, and business systems, preferably EH&S management platforms such as Intelex or similar compliance management systems
• Strong data analytics and reporting capabilities, including:
• Dashboard and scorecard development
• KPI design and performance measurement
• Trend analysis and data visualization
• Ad hoc and executive reporting
• Experience with reporting and business intelligence tools, such as:
• Microsoft Power BI
• Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas)
• SharePoint
• Google Workspace (G Suite)
• SQL or other data query tools preferred
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, system administration, user support, and reporting best practices
• Working knowledge of EH&S principles, compliance requirements, and performance metrics, including:
• OSHA general industry standards
• Incident reporting and investigation processes
• Risk assessment and corrective action management
• Safety performance indicators and regulatory reporting
• Understanding of distribution center, and logistics safety environments, including common operational risks and compliance requirements
• Ability to translate complex data and technical information into clear insights, reports, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills
Working Conditions:
• In-office environment. Based in Richmond, VA
• Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.)
• May require up to 10% travel, based on business and operational needs

$83,600 - $139,400
