Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure (FedRAMP & AWS)
Trimble is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their world class and globally diverse team to help develop and support Trimble’s FedRAMP PaaS portfolio. This position will be a key member supporting cloud-hosted solutions with platforms residing in AWS GovCloud.
Per FedRAMP and DoD requirements, you must be a verifiable US person on US soil (citizen or permanent resident, state or territory).

What Makes This Role Great:
• Responsible for configuration, optimization, documentation and support of the infrastructure components of software products which are hosted primarily in cloud services (AWS)
• Perform day-to-day server application management, monitoring, incident response/resolution, and working with the customer application development and technical support teams to establish effective application monitoring and to identify application changes to improve operations
• Develop new and enhance current shared public cloud services with consideration for Availability, Operations, Performance, Capacity, Security, and User Experience
• Responsible for management of security posture and adherence to corporate security best practices
• Develop and maintain documentation including, but not limited to, architecture diagrams, service descriptions, build and deploy documentation, and operations runbook documentation
• Provide design and deployment assistance for divisions needing help on a project basis
• Manage AWS & FedRAMP best practice expectations (incorporating Trimble Cloud Core Platform standards)
• Work with a global team and are able to occasionally meet or perform tasks off-hours
Essential Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
• At 2 years minimum (5 years preferred) of experience in IT operations, including knowledge of networking, computing, and storage
• Experience with AWS public cloud (or Government Cloud)
• Windows system administration familiarity and scripting skills, such as Python, Powershell.
• Linux system administration familiarity and scripting skills, such as Bash.
• Familiarity with application operations, including Incident Management, Change Management, CI/CD Pipelines, and Capacity Management
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Strong desire to learn new things
• Knowledge of FedRAMP Framework less critical than solid SRE skills
Bonus Points For
• Developing and supporting shared services
• Configuration management tooling, including Ansible/Terraform
• Development tooling, including Jira, Git, and ArgoCD
• Working with container services such as ECS/EKS/Kubernetes
• Operations tools, including Splunk, New Relic, GitLab CI, Jira Service Management
• SAML integration and Active Directory / LDAP directory services
• AWS SDK (e.g., AWS CLI, boto3)
• RDBMS or NoSQL DB experience (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB, AWS RDS)
• Windows system administration
• Working with Software development lifecycle / agile processes

Compensation: Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule.
