The Sr. Principal Design Engineer - Systems Integration, Data Center & Infrastructure Systems will hold the title of Systems Integration Manager (SIM) even though this is not a managerial role. • The Systems Integration Manager (SIM) is the single threaded owner of engineering delivery and system integration for complex industrial and data center infrastructure systems, including chillers, CDUs, switchgear, PDCs, control panels, fluid networks, containment systems, modular data centers and factory enablement activities. • The SIM maintains a tight operational partnership with the Technical Program Manager (TPM) team managing a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment between engineering execution, program priorities and cross project dependencies to drive disciplined, predictable delivery. • This role ensures thermal, electrical, fluid, and control systems are integrated into a fully functional, reliable system and that engineering teams execute with alignment, clarity and accountability. • Additionally, the SIM establishes visibility into scope maturity, engineering execution, and organizational risks, ensuring data driven decisions and predictable delivery. What Success Looks Like • Fully integrated systems across disciplines. • Minimal commissioning issues. • Predictable, high-quality program execution. • Strong alignment and accountability across engineering teams. • Clear operating rhythm and visibility at the leadership level. • System performance meets real-world expectations. What Makes This Role Different • This is NOT a Technical Program Manager (TPM) role. • The SIM owns systems performance and integration, drives engineering decisions across disciplines, ensures systems operate under real world conditions and enforces execution discipline and accountability across engineering teams. What This Role Is Not • Not a TPM or tracking role. • Not limited to reporting or coordination. • Not removed from technical decision making. Opportunity Intake & Validation • Own intake and prioritization of new initiatives, serving as the primary entry point for all incoming opportunities into the organization. • Assess and validate each opportunity for technical feasibility, scope clarity, resource requirements and alignment to organizational priorities before commitment. • Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps early, ensuring that incomplete or ambiguous work is resolved prior to formal program launch. • Partner closely with cross functional teams to shape programs before execution, refining scope, defining success criteria and establishing clear ownership and expectations. • Drive structured decision making for go / no go recommendations, providing clear, data driven insights and tradeoffs to leadership. • Ensure only well defined, executable work enters the engineering pipeline, improving predictability, reducing rework and protecting team capacity. What will you do ? • Drive closure of critical actions, resolve ownership gaps, escalate risks appropriately, and enforce accountability across engineering and cross-functional stakeholders. • End to end engineering execution across thermal, electrical, fluid and control systems from design through deployment • Own system requirements, architecture decomposition, interface management, verification, validation, and requirements flow-down across all subsystems. • Ensure system performance, reliability, and integration readiness under real world operating conditions. • Drive cross-functional alignment across Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Thermal, Manufacturing, and Program teams. • Lead system level design reviews, including P&IDs, one-lines, controls architectures, and subsystem interfaces. • Define and drive integration, commissioning, FAT, SAT and deployment readiness strategies. • Ensure build readiness for skids, modular data centers (MDCs), and field installations. • Lead system-level failure analysis, corrective actions, engineering change management, and risk mitigation activities. • Establish visibility into scope maturity, engineering performance, execution risks, and critical dependencies. • Drive program execution cadence, including planning and design reviews. • Standardize execution frameworks, operating rhythms and lessons learned processes to improve organizational scalability and predictability. How will you get here?  • Strong systems engineering capability, including requirements management, interface control, verification, validation, and systems integration. • Ability to operate at both system-level engineering depth and organizational execution leadership. • Working knowledge of thermal systems, electrical distribution, controls, and fluid system integration. • Experience leading full lifecycle delivery from architecture and design through commissioning and field deployment. • Ability to influence and drive accountability across technical and cross-functional teams without direct authority. • Strong judgment in prioritization, risk management, escalation, and decision-making under ambiguity. • Ability to translate complex technical and business tradeoffs into clear executive-level communication. • Proven ability to establish scalable execution frameworks, operating rhythms, and organizational discipline. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience:   • 8 –15+ years delivering complex engineered systems. • Experience in thermal, electrical, fluid, or controls systems integration. • Strong system level engineering capability. • Proven cross functional leadership. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations or systems engineering teams. • Experience with data center or critical infrastructure systems. • NPI or program recovery experience. • Experience with modular systems (MDCs, skids). • Commissioning and field deployment experience.
