Our team designs, builds, and operates the scheduling and licensing infrastructure for NVIDIA’s global HPC fleet used for electronic design automation (EDA). These services connect chip design and verification workloads with compute capacity and software licenses across sites. Their reliability and performance directly affect how quickly engineering teams can complete their work. We are hiring a software engineer to improve how these services are deployed, tested, upgraded, and recovered. You will develop production software, simplify service dependencies, and build systems that remain reliable under high throughput and partial failures. You will own work from design through production operation, including testing at scale, migrating running services, and retiring old implementations. You will work with infrastructure and workload teams to bring new capacity online and reduce the manual effort needed to operate the fleet. What you'll be doing: • Designing and developing software to deploy, configure, upgrade, and recover our global compute infrastructure. • Change service designs so that services can be deployed, maintained, and recovered independently. Removing unnecessary dependencies and limiting the effects of failures.. • Developing interfaces between provisioning, inventory, deployment, and service management systems. • Developing automated test environments and tests for production workloads, scale, dependency failures, and recovery. • Developing deployment systems with staged rollout, health checks, and tested rollback recovery procedures • Developing monitoring and diagnostic tools to explain service failures, performance problems, and workload delays. • Measuring improvements in deployment time, service reliability, recovery time, and manual operating effort. What we need to see: • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. • 8+ years in infrastructure engineering, including software development for infrastructure automation and configuration management. • Strong programming experience in Go or Python. Experience with data structures, algorithms, automated testing, and software design. • Strong Linux systems knowledge, including processes, networking, storage, and service dependencies. • Experience introducing software changes into running production systems, including migration and recovery. Ways to stand out from the crowd: • You have brought a manually administered estate under configuration management while it stayed in production. • Familiarity with LSF, Slurm, or another batch scheduler as a configuration target. • CI/CD experience for infrastructure, including test environments that meaningfully resemble production. • Observability instincts — you instrument what you automate. NVIDIA is considered one of the world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you! Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and other objective job-related factors. The expected base salary ranges for this position are: 184,000 USD – 287,500 USD for Level 4; and 224,000 USD – 356,500 USD for Level 5. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits . Applications for this job will be accepted at least until November 6, 2026. This posting is for an existing vacancy.  NVIDIA uses AI tools in its recruiting processes.
