Structural and Payload Design Engineer, Senior Level Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for motivated, talented Senior Structural and Payload Design Engineer to join the Direct Attack Structural and Mechanical Design team, part of Precision Engagement Systems (PES), located in St. Charles, Missouri . The Direct Attack Structural and Mechanical Design Team is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) programs. Connected to our customers’ missions, we deliver unique capabilities through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in St. Charles, Missouri, include JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC, B61TKA and associated derivatives utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards. In this position, you will innovate, develop, maintain and modify mechanical and structural systems and component designs, using 3-D Computer-Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Position Responsibilities: • Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. • Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools (Such as NX) and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. • Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ( GD&T – ASME Y14.5M) standards. • Validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. • Manage supplier development and test and production activities.  Coordination with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals. • Develop new design and analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. • Collaborate with cross functional teams to interpret requirements, define interfaces and develop innovative integrated assembly designs using thorough design layouts to produce engineering definition documents. • Provide engineering support throughout fabrication, integration, and test of structure products at suppliers and in-house facility. • Develop complex equipment and tooling concepts and design solutions for the Production System • Investigate emerging technologies to create concepts for future product designs, vehicle integration, and testing to meet project requirements. • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements. • Develop, integrate, and document vehicle tooling and equipment integration workflows based on design requirements to enhance productivity during vehicle integration. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences) • Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • Experience in applying engineering processes and principles • Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification and validation • Military aircraft, weapons and/or commercial aircraft structures experience • Experience with systems development and integration • Experience with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) • Experience working both independently and in team environment Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
