You will be handling planning and project management functions associated with the engineering, buildout, maintenance, and enhancements to Verizon’s Outside Plant Network including structures, cables, and associated equipment.  • Developing plans for constructing and maintaining the outside plant infrastructure based on the build-out of the network and needs of the business. • Driving complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives. • Planning, Designing, & Project Managing network additions, upgrades, repairs and enhancements. • Selecting and pricing solutions based on the most effective, efficient, and timely design • Providing guidance to Engineering and Operations in order to monitor the infrastructure and troubleshoot and repair issues that arise with the fiber and equipment. • Directing internal departments and liaison with residential and business end-users, building contractors, and property owners to implement solutions appropriately. • Developing service order requirements and solutions based on external and internal customer demands. • Maintaining excellent communication with functional team members, direct management, and external customers to ensure early identification of issues a timely reporting of status. • Providing guidance to Engineering and Construction teams in implementing the projects. • Developing and executing on engineering projects, working with the appropriate teams and utilizing resources to ensure the success of the project. You’ll need to have: • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. • Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience. • Technical or project management experience. • Knowledge of PC and software applications including Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive), Windows and MS Office. • A valid Driver’s License. Even better if you have: • Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational and external customer communications. • Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion. • Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external teams. • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively. • Good project management skills. • Ability to communicate progress to project management and project team. • Experience making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements. • Engineering, Planning, and/or Operations knowledge, especially with Local and Long-Haul Telecommunications networks. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to make network design decisions based on recommended Engineering Guidelines and design criteria. • Experience with AI tools and platforms, (Gemini, Claude, etc). • Familiarity with Verizon. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The salary range for the Maryland location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $81,500.00 - $142,000.00.
