Job Title FTS Distributed Infrastructure - Database Analysis, Advisor II About your role: You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and security of our database systems. Your expertise will help drive the design, analysis, and maintenance of databases to meet critical business requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve database issues, implement best practices, and ensure data integrity. This role provides an opportunity to leverage your skills to significantly impact our database operations and overall business success.   What you'll do: • Lead the analysis of database systems to ensure efficiency and reliability • Design and implement database systems to meet complex business requirements. • Monitor and maintain database performance, security, and integrity. • Collaborate with development teams to resolve database issues and optimize performance. • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems and processes. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the database team. • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME), supporting other DBAs and technical teams on complex database issues and projects. • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching to keep systems up to date and secure. • Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security policies, data governance requirements, and regulatory standards.     Experience you'll need to have: • 8+ years of experience in enterprise database administration, engineering, or architecture supporting multiple database platforms. • 7+ years of experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and data modeling. • 5+ years of experience designing and supporting highly available, mission-critical database environments. • 5+ years of experience administering one or more enterprise database platforms including: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra &/or Snowflake. • Experience with cloud database technologies such as: Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instance, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora &/or Cloud-native database services. • Experience with database replication, clustering, high availability, disaster recovery, and backup/recovery strategies. • Experience supporting large-scale data warehouse, analytics, and reporting environments. • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent. • Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies. • Experience working within distributed enterprise environments supporting mission-critical applications. • 4-year college degree and 6 years of experience in applicable field or 8 years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience   Experience that would be great to have: • Experience supporting DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices. • Experience implementing enterprise data governance, security, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues. • Database certifications. • Experience with modern cloud data platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Redshift, or BigQuery. • Experience with Kubernetes, containerized database deployments, and cloud-native architectures.   How you'll work: • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.   Sponsorship: • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Salary Range $128,000.00 - $216,000.00 These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
