Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.   Job Description: Mission Solutions directorate of Parsons Space is now hiring a full-time Software Engineer to support NASA's Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution, (SENSE) program at the White Sands Complex (WSC) in Las Cruces, New Mexico. We need Software Engineers who are versatile, demonstrate leadership, and are willing to tackle new challenges. The successful candidate will review system architecture and select and implement appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance. Parsons offers opportunities for customer interaction and quick-reaction development on a team focused on delivering software and technology for domestic and international space programs. Position Responsibilities  • Analyze, design, implement, test, and document software for high-profile satellite communications systems • Work closely with systems engineers and project managers to deliver reliable, high-quality systems to the customer • Work within an Agile development team by participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives • Use Git and GitLab for source control, code review, branching, merging, and collaborative software development • Use Jira to manage assigned work, update task and issue status, and support backlog and sprint tracking • Develop unit tests and system and regression test cases • Participate in design and code reviews for project and product initiatives • Assist with prototype and tool development Required Qualifications • Must be a US citizen • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science • Not less than 5 years of related professional experience • Experience working on a software development team that uses Agile methods • Experience using Git for version control, GitLab for repository management and collaborative development workflows, and Jira for backlog, issue, and sprint tracking Desired Qualifications • Proficiency in SQL, Ada, C, C++, Java, and/or LabVIEW • Familiarity with XML, HTML, Tcl, Python, and shell scripting languages • Experience with Linux and Windows development environments and tools (Eclipse, Visual Studio, etc.) • Self-motivated and disciplined - able to work with minimal supervision • Tracking and Data Relay Satellite system  • Basic knowledge of computer networking • DEC Alphas and OpenVMS • Memory and performance profiling Security Clearance Requirement: An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​ This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
