Role We are seeking a Salesforce Developer to join our Information Technology Business Applications team in a hybrid capacity based in San Jose, CA, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Application Engineering. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and scaling of robust Salesforce solutions that empower internal stakeholders and optimize business processes. By leveraging your expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and platform best practices, you will build critical applications, conduct rigorous testing, and maintain code quality to ensure high system performance and seamless data integrity across our environments. What You'll Do (Role Expectations) • Develop and customize user interface components using Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura, ensuring alignment with the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) and upgrading legacy Visualforce pages • Design and maintain highly efficient Apex Controllers, Triggers, and SOQL/SOSL queries while strictly adhering to Salesforce Governor Limits and development best practices • Champion overall code quality by refactoring existing Apex classes, ensuring context-aware execution, and utilizing JavaScript Helper functions to maintain clean controllers • Execute robust testing strategies by writing comprehensive Apex test classes to achieve high-quality test coverage, managing seamless deployments using VS Code and Git • Perform routine data administration, bulk uploads, and environment synchronization using Data Loader to maintain impeccable data integrity across all environments Who You Are (Success Profile) • You navigate ambiguity with confidence, viewing complex or undefined situations as opportunities to design innovative and meaningful solutions. • You operate with a strong sense of ownership and integrity, seamlessly balancing strategic alignment with hands-on execution to drive successful outcomes. • You are a proactive problem solver who is energized by complex challenges and focused on delivering high-impact, sustainable results. • You are deeply customer-obsessed, building strong empathy for internal and external stakeholders to design solutions that resolve real-world pain points. • You maintain a high sense of urgency and execution bias, consistently delivering high-quality work in a rapid-growth environment to help the team win. What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications) • Experience leveraging generative AI tools (such as Copilot, Gemini, or ChatGPT) to accelerate Salesforce development, optimize Apex code quality, or write test classes • 2+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience with a background in Computer Science or Information Technology • Expertise in developing Lightning Components with CSS and design parameters to enhance look and feel • Strong knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem, architecture, and core platform capabilities • Experience programming in Apex, Visualforce pages, LWC, and Aura Component development • U.S. citizenship, required due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) • Salesforce Platform Developer I (PDI) certification #LI-YC2 #LI-SanJose #LI-Hybrid Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
