Offered Position: Tech Ops Engineer III Job Location: Dallas, Texas Job Number: AMZ10416578 Position Responsibilities: Responsible for one or multiple regions of AWS data center construction projects scheduling management and controls. Provide expert guidance on complex project scheduling challenges while ensuring timely delivery of critical infrastructure. Lead and mentor a team of contract Construction Schedulers. Develop and analyze project schedules range from Level 1 to Level 5, identifying construction critical paths activities and optimization opportunities. Facilitate Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM) with cross functional internal/external stakeholders. Review and validate contractor schedules using construction industry standard DCMA 14 Point Check. Identify potential schedule slippage and collaborate with project managers to develop recovery plans. Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) against contractor schedule change requests. Analyze contractor schedules and construction progress and produce executive-level schedule status reports including but not limited to Baseline Review Report, Critical Path Report, 3/6 Week Lookahead Report, Milestone Variance Report, and Time Impact Analysis Report. Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM) implementation for schedule tracking. Support project schedule forensic analysis and improvement initiatives. Position Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field and seven years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master’s Degree and five years of experience. Must have three years of experience in the following skill(s): (1) Oracle Primavera P6; (2) project scheduling methodologies in mission-critical construction projects; (3) scheduling methodologies such as Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), Pull Planning, Rolling Wave Planning/Scheduling, Integrated Master Schedule Development and Management; (4) knowledge of scheduling technical details such as constraint, lead/lag, logic ties relationships (Finish-Start, Start-Start, Finish-Finish, and Start-Finish), and free/total float; (5) performing Time Impact Analysis (TIA), "what-if" analysis, and forensic schedule delay analysis for claims mitigation; (6) interpreting multi-discipline construction documents; (7) understanding of building codes (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA); and (8) tracking construction progress through scheduling submissions from contractors. Domestic travel up to 25% to perform role responsibilities may be required.
