Our commitment extends beyond business success as we strive to build sustainable processes that minimize environmental impact and foster vibrant and diverse communities around the globe.   Manufacturing Engineer II – PCBA/SMT Job Description We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer (ME) to support PCBA/SMT and electronics manufacturing operations. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and NPI teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes, resolve production issues, and support successful product launches. This is a hands-on, production-floor position requiring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support customer production priorities and schedules. Key Responsibilities • Support PCBA, SMT, Box Build, and electronics manufacturing processes. • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype and initial builds through production ramp and mass production. • Perform DFA/DFM reviews and identify potential manufacturing, assembly, and process issues. • Troubleshoot manufacturing and production issues using structured root-cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. • Support and optimize SMT processes and equipment, including: • Pick-and-Place • Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) • Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) • Reflow • X-Ray • Selective Solder • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, including: • Work Instructions • Process Flows • PFMEA • Control Plans • First Article documentation • Special Instructions (SI) • Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics, including First Pass Yield (FPY), scrap, defects, downtime, productivity, and process efficiency. • Work directly with Production and Quality teams to identify and resolve manufacturing problems. • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, yield, productivity, efficiency, and cost. • Support engineering changes and ensure manufacturing processes and documentation are updated accordingly. • Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to operators and technicians on the production floor. • Support production builds, customer commitments, and priority projects as required. • Document lessons learned and implemented process improvements to prevent recurring issues. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing readiness for new and existing products. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. • 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred. • Experience in PCBA, SMT, Box Build, or electronics manufacturing. • Experience supporting NPI and production builds. • Working knowledge of DFA/DFM principles. • Strong root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation and processes. • Experience working directly with Production and Quality teams. • Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and project management skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Comfortable working hands-on and troubleshooting issues directly on the production floor. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support customer production schedules. Preferred Equipment & Technical Experience Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: • SMT Pick-and-Place Equipment • SPI • AOI • Reflow Ovens • X-Ray Inspection • Selective Solder • SMT Programming • Soldering and Rework Processes • Test and Inspection Equipment • PCBA Manufacturing Processes Software & Engineering Tools Experience with manufacturing and engineering systems/tools such as: • CAD • ERP/MRP systems • MES • Microsoft Excel • Statistical and Data Analysis Tools • SMT Programming Software • Manufacturing and Quality Management Systems Work Environment • Onsite position at the manufacturing facility. • Regular interaction with operators, technicians, engineers, Quality, Production, and manufacturing leadership. • Must be comfortable working directly on the production floor to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues. • Ability to support occasional overtime, weekend builds, or off-shift production support when required. • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing customer and production priorities. The pay range for this role is $81,900 - $147,400.
